CUPCAKES but no ruined diets.

Hello, hope you are all ok. Very icy here today, a slight dusting of snow this morning and the ice has hardly cleared. I have only poked my nose out to go to hairdresser which I really needed. I was beginning to resemble an Old English sheepdog, even got the cold nose today.

I thought I would have a change from parchment and get my inks out. Part of my mission this year is to use each of my products at least once to make a card. Too often I buy something thinking it is wonderful put it to one side for later but never get back to it.

So I found one of my NDC stamps. This is from the design club that is run by Claritystamp . We pay a monthly subscription and receive a stamp, stencil, Groovi plate or Die depending on which club you subscribe to, or if you are like me all four. I could not decide between them.

Anyway out came the cupcake stamp. I decided on some paper piecing, using up some of those scraps that we all hang onto.

I masked off the top part of the stamp and inked up the lower part. REMOVE the masking tape and stamp onto chosen piece of paper. Then repeat process with top part of stamp but onto a different piece of paper. Mine were from the Brighton Rock paper pad from Clarity.  Bit of cutting out next, Maggie Craner if you reading this not a tricky one. Cut outside the inked line. Just a question of glueing to some card and layering up next. I added a flower and leaves as well.  Tina's flowers

I added a strip of matching paper to the base card with a ribbon band then attached the topper. Added a bow and a few pearls in the corners.

So have a look through your paper scraps and use them up paper piecing. Not sure we will ever get to the bottom of our scrap boxes though.

                       Thanks for dropping in. xx

  1. Nice idea Lynne. I'm too lazy to mask off for paper piecing. Would just make an extra cupcake from the left overs lol. The flower is a great finishing touch.

  2. Great idea Lynne ! I had a good sort through my NDC stuff, filed some away and found the ones I’d forgotten - it was quite refreshing to see what was there and most of it I haven’t used so it was like having new bits all over again ! Love your card x

  5. We are all inspiring each other this year. It is so good to see our blogs really firing up. I think I could manage that bit of cutting out, Lynne. I really like what you have done with this stamp. I am busy knitting in the evenings right now. Once this bit is finished, I am determined to use my existing stash in several different ways to stretch my imagination. xxx Maggie
